Platform Navigation Guide

The ScannerSky administrative portal provides a clean, responsive layout designed for school staff, teachers, registrars, and administrators to efficiently manage attendance, student records, and ID badge issuance.

1. Left Sidebar Navigation​

The left sidebar serves as the main control center, organizing features into logical functional groups:

  • Dashboard: Instant operational command center with attendance KPIs and class calendars.
  • Academics:
    • Departments: Manage academic departments, colleges, and administrative offices.
    • Programs: Manage degree tracks and basic education grade levels.
    • Semesters: Configure active school terms, calendar windows, and current semester markers.
    • Classes: View and manage class rosters, schedules, and live attendance scanning. Employee Divine Services and Christian Values Education (CVE) classes are also managed here.
    • Events: Track attendance for one-time institutional assemblies, graduation ceremonies, and Ebenezer Convention Center events.
  • Records:
    • Persons: Central database of students, faculty, and staff profiles.
    • Records: Complete searchable history of every card tap recorded across campus.
    • ID Templates: Design customizable ID card layouts, field placements, and automatic background templates.
    • ID Cards: Track physical badge issuance, card replacements, and RFID serial numbers.
    • ID Print Logs: Audit trail of every ID badge printing job.
  • Devices:
    • Areas: Campus rooms, gates, lecture halls, and physical scan zones.
    • Devices: Register and monitor connected RFID hardware scanner kiosks and nodes.
    • Device Logs: Check scanner connection heartbeats, telemetry, and live status logs.
  • Authentication:
    • Users: Manage staff user accounts, logins, and administrative access.
    • Groups: Role-based access control (RBAC) and permission group bundles.
    • Login Events: Security log of staff sign-ins, IP addresses, and authentication timestamps.
    • User Activity: Audit trail of administrative actions and portal navigation.
Feature & Menu Visibility Notice

Features and menu options visible to you in the sidebar may be subject to user or group permission restrictions. If you need access to features that are currently not visible, access to permissions can be coordinated with your administrators if needed.

2. Site Dropdown Menu​

Located at the top of the left sidebar next to the ScannerSky logo and version badge:

  • Site Dropdown: Click the arrow next to the logo to open navigation shortcuts:
    • Home: Returns to the main public landing page.
    • Learn: Opens the user manual and interactive guides (this portal).
    • Docs: Opens the technical documentation and developer guides.

3. User Profile Menu​

Located at the bottom of the left sidebar, displaying the logged-in user's account details:

  • Theme Preferences: Switch the display theme between Light, Dark, or System Default.
  • View Site: Open the public portal homepage in a new tab.
  • Change Password: Safely update your login password.
  • Log Out: Securely sign out of your administrative session.
